Matilda Lloyd

Trumpeter Matilda Lloyd made a major impact while still in her teens, winning a BBC Young Musician of the Year competition and making her debut at the Proms. In her early twenties, she had already launched an international career and released her debut recording. Lloyd's BBC Young Musician of the Year Brass Final win came in 2014, a year in which she also won the Young Brass Award from the BBC Radio 2 network. She released her debut album, Direct Message, with pianist John Reid in 2018. Lloyd returned in 2023 with Casta Diva, an album of opera arias transcribed for trumpet and orchestra.
